field day
  • Individualized curriculum – teachers assess, monitor and respond to each student’s needs and abilities and use lots of hands-on materials.  Technology is integrated into the curriculum. Subject areas include math, language arts, social studies, science, music, art, religion, Spanish, and P.E.
  • Small class size, typically 15 students.
  • Study skills are integrated into the curriculum.
  • Guest speakers, field trips, special projects, and cross-curricular studies mean more active and in-depth learning for students. Our students regularly participate in the tri-county science Olympiad.
  • Great extra-curricular offerings – spring and fall soccer and SHU's acclaimed youth drama program "Creative Stages"
  • Service projects open students up to the world around them and help them develop leadership skills.  Each year our students raise over $4,000 to aid projects locally and around the world.
