Supply lists, schedules, dress code information, and more will be available now on our Back-To-School web page. The first day of school for the 2010-2011 school year is Tuesday, September 7th (the day after Labor Day).
Virtus Traning for All Volunteers Who Work with Children
Saint Joseph Academy joins with the entire diocese in requiring the "Protecting God's Children" Virtus Training for all school staff and volunteers who interact with children. This includes coaches, scout leaders, recess supervisors, lunchroom workers, field trip drivers, chaperones, classroom helpers, etc. Virtus training involves attending a free, three-hour session and is a one-time traning with support and updates available through the Virtus website. Youth Drama Opportunity
Cirque Amongus will be performing once again during Art-A-Licious. This is a great group! They have performed at many schools and do a wonderful job including children and boosting self esteem. This group will be teaching a workshop for children in 3rd-8th grade. The students will learn circus skills at the workshop that they will then perform with Cirque Amongus at Art-a-Licious. Cost is $15 per child and only 35 students will be admitted. Details:

Performance: Saturday, September 18, 1-2pm, downtown Adrian
Cost is $15 per child and class size is limited to 35 students

Cyberbullying Information
Did you know that 30% of middle school and high school aged students report that they have encountered bullying through technology? Cyberbullying is a big problem, especially since the bullying behaviours can follow you around to anywhere there is technology--through email, websites, chat rooms, text messages, or cell phone calls. Many students often engage in cyberbullying without even realizing what it is. Here are some handouts that provide resources for parents and students on this topic:
